Ingredients
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil
- 3 cloves Garlic minced
- 1 lb Ground Beef
- 1 tsp Ground Cumin
- 1 tsp Paprika
- Fresh Ground Pepper to taste
- Onion Powder to taste
- Hot Sauce to taste
- 1/2 cup Pimiento Stuffed Olives
- 2 sheet Puff Pastry Dough
Egg Wash
- 1 Egg
- 2 tsp Water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375
- Grease 2 baking sheets, if necessary.
- Heat olive oil over medium-high heat.1 tbsp Olive Oil
- Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds, until fragrant.3 cloves Garlic
- Add ground beef and spices.1 lb Ground Beef, 1 tsp Ground Cumin, 1 tsp Paprika, Fresh Ground Pepper, Onion Powder, Hot Sauce
- Cook, breaking up the beef, until cooked through. 5-7 mins.
- Remove from heat, mix in the chopped olives, and set aside.1/2 cup Pimiento Stuffed Olives
- Roll out the sheets of puff pastry to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut each into 6 equal pieces.2 sheet Puff Pastry Dough
- Spoon about a tablespoon of meat mixture into the center of each.
- In a small mixing bowl, combine egg and water and lightly beat with a fork.1 Egg, 2 tsp Water
- Paint the edges of the dough with egg wash.
- Fold dough over meat and press/twist edges to seal.
- Put empanadas on baking sheets with 1-1/2 inches between.
- Bake for 18 to 20 mins, or until puffed and golden.
- Serve hot. Leftovers can be frozen.
